RECORDINGS ARE NOT FOR SALE!

COMMONEST ENQUIRIES

  • Recordings are not for sale.
  • We trade recordings for recordings. We don't accept trades for blanks (b&p).
  • We trade for recordings of artists already listed here - but no other bands.

IMPORTANT PRACTICALITIES

Please don't send us Word-format (.doc) trading lists by e-mail, nor Excel (.xls) spreadsheets. WHY?

Please always provide tracklistings for recordings, either by e-mail or with the CD-Rs. This is part of the trade. WHY?

We rarely use jewel cases, so do not require artwork in trades. Likewise, we do not offer artwork in trades, except for that produced 'in house', which can be downloaded here. We cannot advise on other sources of artwork.

We are generally only interested in high sound-quality recordings ('A-' or better), on CD-R; see individual pages for further details. We're only looking for recordings by certain artists, listed here.

We trade CD-Rs, in audio format only - not .shn WHY? and never .mp3 format.

We do not trade video recordings (DVD nor VHS).

Please label the disc envelope or packaging, never mark the disc itself.

Please use well-known CD-R brands, not bargain-bin generics.
IMPORTANT: please avoid Traxdata discs WHY?

One recording per disc, please (unless agreed), so no fillers.

A small number of official releases are listed, merely to inform traders that they are official. We won't trade them.

Contact us if any of these are a problem.

SOUND RATINGS

 Avoid 'C' recordings.
C+:Really bad; excessive crowd, tape or vinyl noise, wildly inaccurate running speed, extremely low recording level, or other reasons for a virtually unplayable recording. Rarely recommended, unless the only source of rare material.
B-:Exhibits the same problems as a 'C', to a lesser extent. Conveys the essence of a show, but unlistenable through headphones.
B:Adequate.
B+:Pretty good, though with significant tape hiss, or a clear recording with significant crowd noise.
A-:'Excellent', though possibly retaining minor tape hiss. May include occasional, isolated flaws (e.g. dropouts).
A:As good as an official release. Negligible tape hiss, crowd noise only enough to enhance the atmosphere. May include 1-2 isolated flaws.
A+:Extremely rare! Better sound quality than a typical official live release. Likely to be studio outtakes or a top-quality broadcast recording.
U:Unrated.
