I wanted to catch the dappled light reflected off the wall; I'm not sure it worked. This is an unconventional view of Penny Street Bridge. A plaque at road level indicates that it was opened by the mayor, Councillor Preston, on 24 May, 1900. It was built as part of improvement works conducted to celebrate the turn of the century, which somewhat parallels the construction of the Millennium Bridge over the River Lune in 2000. |
