This, one of the main buildings of the mill complex, is now The Adult College. As the name suggests, this is a further education (i.e. not offering degree-level courses - that'd be higher education) institution.
Until writing this I'd forgotten that I enquired about doing a course here in ~1999; another measure required by the Employment Agency as part of the 'jobseeking' process. I don't even remember the nature of the course, but suspect it was a vocational or foundation-level course in something Geography/Environmental Science-related, which I could have done (and would have needed to) in my sleep, as I was really spending all my time (vainly) working on a PhD thesis in the same subject.
