For me, this building typifies the failings of modern Morecambe. On the ground floor are the tatty entrance to the Carleton nightclub (a favourite with Lancaster University students, for some strange reason), the run-down amusement arcade (note the missing sections of signage), and a couple of tiny shops round the side. Yet look at the spendour of the building itself. This has been impressive, and still has considerable potential, yet it and the whole town it exemplifies are merely becoming more dilapidated each year.
