This photograph doesn't capture the scale and strange majesty of this massive, almost megalithic structure. Hopefully it gives some idea of the gradation of light on the almost smooth concrete, but it's unfortunate that the sun's angle detracts from the hard right angles of the viaduct itself.
The objects in the underpass aren't street lights, but more public artwork, part of the Millennium Park project.
