Very arty ;) These are the supporting pylons of the new (built in 2000) pedestrian/cycle bridge across the River Lune. From some angles, the tips look a little like fingernails, reinforcing the slight impression of two raised fingers.... To be fair, I don't see it myself. Another reference, which might have been deliberate, is to the masts and rigging of the ships which once used St. Georges Quay and the port of Lancaster. |
