The fence decorations are dead moles. I don't know why farmers display the corpses.
I'm afraid I don't recognise any particular landmarks in the background. The flat, unforested area in the distance is the northern end of the Fylde; beyond that is the Irish Sea.
More personally, J and I stopped here for a rest, and discussed why Jaffa Cakes are called 'cakes' rather than 'biscuits', a conversation which inspired this site's subtitle, "spending time as a biscuit, for tax reasons". So now you know.
