The road ends at the Old Hall, which is set slightly apart from Sunderland's 'terraces'. From there one walks across the shingle beach to reach Sunderland Point itself.
[Have I laboured that enough? 'Sunderland Point' is the tip of the headland, almost a kilometre from the village, which is just called 'Sunderland'. Not 'Sunderland Point'.]
