Royal Lancaster Infirmary, UK, seen from the canal, ~05:55, 13 June, 2004
This, the old part of Lancaster's main hospital, was built between 1888 and 1896 to the designs of Paley and Austin and opened on 24 March 1896 by the Duke and Duchess of York.
I may be wrong, but I think these buildings are devoted to administration and out-patient departments now, whilst in-patient facilities, operating theatres and A&E (US: ER) are in brand new buildings to the south. |
