As I discovered almost exactly a year ago, wild garlic seems to like the sheer sides of potholes.

This is as close to the floor as I could reach. Well, I could easily have dropped the final 2½-3 m, but there'd have been the small matter of jumping 3 m to get back out....
Another disincentive was that just after I took the photo, my eye was caught by movement in the dark slot at the upper right of this image: I'm pretty sure tawny owls are nesting in there.
