This is the end of the Glasson Branch of the canal, terminating in the Glasson Basin marina, seen from Brows Bridge.
The building with the bellcote, to the right of the second narrowboat, is the village church.
Atmospheric as this image may be, the reverse view, obtained eighteen months ago, is a little more cheery.
