'Aber Falls' from Penmon, near Llangoed, itself near Beaumaris, Anglesey, North Wales, UK, 1 September, 2007

Aber Falls is, as the Welsh name (Rhaeadr Fawr) says, a big waterfall, where the Afon Goch draining from the Carneddau range drops ~35 m vertically. It's accessible on foot via a pleasant path from Abergwyngregyn village; recommended!

As I took this photograph, I was congratulating myself on finding the sole point from which the waterfall can be seen from a distance... but it isn't. Having studied sight lines on the map, I have to conclude the visible cascade is the much smaller one on the Afon Anafon, and Rhaeadr Fawr is the one further round to the right, behind the coniferous plantation on the ridge. Damn.
