
Chimney, west tower of Dolwyddelan Castle, Gwynedd, UK, 11 August, 2007
The west tower was the last part of the mediaeval castle to be built, in 1283 for Edward I. Evidently, it wasn't included in the 19th Century restoration project, though it must have been stabilised by Cadw.
I presume I was standing in the cellar, and the square post holes indicate the level of the ground floor. |
