This may look peaceful, but it's it's very exposed; I struggled to hold the camera steady in a biting wind straight from the Irish Sea. Presumably that's why the reservoir (one of three in the area, all serving Blackpool) was built here, to catch rain falling on the first high ground (215 m asl) behind the Fylde plain.
