The cycle path passes under this point via a ~10m long circular tunnel, neatly mirrored by the circular installation.
Marjan Wouda's wrought iron heron head also seems to symbolise the sinuous River Lune at the Crook; I presume that's deliberate! I certainly I like it, but suspect it'll be lost amongst encroaching vegetation within a matter of months.
