I don't know when the Bentham-Wennington road became a public highway, but it's interesting to see the restored tariff board. I wonder why the fee for a wheelbarrow was double that of a bicycle, and why a sidecar was charged three times more than the accompanying motorbike or forty times more than a sheep. |
