I've passed this gully numerous times in recent years, and every time, the pattern of channel and mudbanks has been very different. Glasson Dock is on the far bank of the River Lune, with the masts of yachts visible at the left, in the basin. I didn't manage to obtain a publishable photo, but the navigation buoys in the main channel are miniature boats, with proper hulls. I presume that's the best shape to resist the extreme flows of each tide. |
