It's a little annoying that a lack of scale indicators prevents direct comparison of these river conditions with those recorded in August 2004. However, it should be self-evident that the water is passing boulders (~1 m across) in this image with considerably more violence than it passed the mere cobbles (~20cm across) in the earlier view.
