Church of St. John the Evangelist, Calder Vale, near Garstang, Lancashire, UK, 15 October, 2006
Built by public subscription on donated land some distance from the village, the church opened in 1863, about thirty years after the village itself was founded. I presume the Quaker mill owners (and by default, landlords of Calder Vale itself) weren't fans of the established church of England. |
