River Rawthey beneath Middleton Bridge, near Sedbergh, Cumbria, UK, 27 August, 2006
The Rawthey joins the River Lune ~200 m further downstream. Their combined catchment area encompasses a large proportion of the Howgill Fells, so it's unsurprising that the combined watercourse is substantial. It looks quite sedate in August, but floods have clearly been able to move large boulders. |
