This is the lowest I've seen the River Lune at Halton. The entire flow is passing through a central gap ~3m wide by 1m deep, a fish pass left for migrating sea trout and salmon. The low, concrete middle section of the weir is almost always submerged, and the higher masonry section is routinely overtopped by winter floods.
