This is where the annoyingly circuitous cycle route crosses the River Keer. If you're travelling from Carnforth to Warton or vice versa, ignore the signs and just stay on the main road. If you're heading to/from Silverdale, it's more worthwhile.
It's thought that the river crossing gave Carnforth its name, as a mutation of 'Keer-ford'.
