I find it difficult to translate the numerous holes into indications of storeys; windows could have been at any height above or between floors. These chimneys, which must have terminated at floor-level heaths, are easier to read, as are protuding stones which would have supported wooden beams.
Apparently there were four storeys on this, the domestic side of the Tower, whilst the other side with the garderobe and turret rose to five storeys.
