The bands of colour and general shape do have a strong resemblance to the corresponding side (eastern) of Ingleborough, even if Whernside doesn't have so distinctive a profile as its neighbours. The zig-zagging path on the left, which then follows the dry stone wall along the ridge, is the route I followed in November 2005, though this is a clearer view than I obtained at the time. |
