The Friary, Rosemary Lane/St. Leonardsgate, Lancaster, UK, 29 May, 2006
Centenary Church was built at the northern end of Stonewell in 1879 for the Congregationalists, and closed in 1967. I wonder how they'd have felt about the fact that it'd be deconsecrated and converted into a large pub by the 1990s.
Incidentally, the name isn't entirely arbitrary: there was a friary in what is now Dalton Square, ~100m away. |
