AA call box, Dunmail Raise, near Grasmere, in the Lake District National Park, UK, 14 April, 2006

Another TARDIS with a faulty chameleon circuit. The comparison to Doctor Who's iconic craft is reasonable, as the AA maintained a network of phone boxes like this for stranded motorists to call for assistance (if they were AA members, of course), in the same manner as police boxes.
In the age of mobile phones, I presume this box at the crest (238 m asl) of the pass between Grasmere and Thirlmere is used for storage, if for anything. The AA phased out the boxes in 2002, removing the phones, but several were preserved for national heritage: the refurbished Dunmail Raise phone box is now one of the UK's smallest Listed buildings; Grade II, even.
