Last November, I was impressed to see the River Lune had overtopped the full width of the weir. This time the structure has almost vanished.

The construction work on the far bank is part of a modern development which has scandalised the heritage-inclined residents of Halton in their hideous late-20th Century dormer bungalows... double-standards, anyone?
