It's a definite sign that the nesting season, and hence summer, is over if Starlings are flocking. At least the corn in the field in the background hasn't ripened yet, so we're not quite into harvest time and Autumn.
This view is looking east across almost the entire width of the Fylde to the hills on the horizon, ~18km (11 miles) away.
