This is odd: a stone doorway set into a flimsy fence at the side of Thwaite Lane, the chained & padlocked gate displaying a sign warning of 'hidden dangers' and prohibiting hunchbacks. I wonder what the older sign said.
Presuming the sign isn't an empty deterrent, I suppose the hazard is Ingleborough Hall's lake; the cliff of its south-eastern shore is ~100m north of this point.
