The Battery, Morecambe, UK, 24 July, 2005
Apparently, Morecambe Bay was used as an artillery firing range in the 1920s, and guns were mounted on the slight headland at the end of the Promenade – which seems strange in a popular seaside resort. This prominent pub is named after the gun emplacement. It's also the main bus terminus in Morecambe. |
