Phone box, Dunsop Bridge, Lancashire, UK, 29 May, 2005
If one was to cut out a map of Great Britain (i.e. the main island of the British Isles) and balance it on a pin, the balance point, the geographical centre point of the island, would be Dunsop Bridge, Lancashire.
British Telecom commemorated that fact by installing this, their 100,000th public payphone, on the village green (even though Dunsop Bridge already had a call box, round the corner...). |
