There are several examples of Georgian architecture on Castle Hill – this street is emphatically part of the Conservation Area. No.1 Castle Hill, the building in shadow on the left, is thought to have been designed by Richard Gillow in ~1770 and was occupied by the offices and workshops of the famous cabinet makers Gillow & Co. until 1881. |
