The sunlit building on the right is Lancaster's main post office. It's busy, so I think I've joined its queue about five times in twelve years. The sorting office is next door, off to the right of this image; I visit that rather more frequently, collecting parcels. I believe the half-timbered frontage in the background is that of a private house, but the (barely visible) blue sign on the deeply shadowed side wall indicates the city's Tourist Information Centre. The building just visible beyond that, in direct sunlight, was the Shrigley & Hunt stained glass factory and is now an Indian restaurant. |
