Gragareth (627m) seen from Raven Ray, near Ingleton, N.Yorkshire, UK, 5 March, 2005

This whole limestone ridge is full of cave systems. One of the entrances in Kingsdale is called 'Bull Pot', but it's only whilst studying the map to write this that I've realised it's not the one I've been down - that was 'Bullpot of the Witches', in the next valley to the west. I think it's safe to presume it's part of the same (Ease Gill) system, the most extensive cave network in the UK, which includes about 50 km of known passages.
The county boundaries are fairly complex here, so though adjacent peaks are rather higher, (Crag Hill/Great Coum (687 m) is in Cumbria and Whernside (736 m) is in North Yorkshire), Gragareth is the highest point in Lancashire.
